Chevrolet Malibu 2013

Chevy also confirmed an ECO version of the '13 Malibu, though this easiest model retains the 2.4-liter configuration. It launches ahead of the 2.5-liter Malibu’s early next year, and will be rated 26/38 mpg.

The '12 Corvette Z06 with the Z07 performance package and the ZR1 will get new tires, bringing maximum lateral acceleration to a manufacturer's claimed 1.10 g. The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Zero Pressure tires are 285/30R19 front, 335/25R20 rear.
At Cadillac, the 2012 SRX finally replaces the 3.0-liter V-6 with the 3.6-liter version, with no expected effect on the 18/25-mpg EPA numbers. Chevrolet has announced that its 2013 Chevrolet Malibu will get a new version of GM's 2.4-liter four, stroked to 2.5 liters. It makes 190 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque, up 20 each, and will proliferate through the GM lineup, including the '12 Buick Regal. In the SRX, the 3.6 is rated 300 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. At the same time, the '12 CTS's 3.6 has been upgraded by 14 horses and 2 pound-feet to 318 horsepower and 275 pound-feet. EPA remains 18/27 mpg, Cadillac

2011 Chevrolet Corvette

What's New for 2011

For 2011 the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is now available with a new Ultimate Performance option package ("Z07"), which incorporates the Corvette ZR1's adaptive suspension and wheel-and-tire fitment. A Carbon Fiber package is also new for the Z06 that adds the lightweight bodywork pieces of the ZR1. Other notable changes this year include upgraded tires for the Z06; option package for the Corvette Grand Sport that combines Z06 tires with ZR1's Magnetic Ride Control suspension; and the addition of a USB port and auxiliary audio jack for the navigation system. Finally, the Corvette Engine Build Experience option allows a Z06 or ZR1 buyer to help assemble the car's engine at the GM facility in Wixom, Michigan.

Introduction

The 2011 Chevrolet Corvette is pretty much the automotive equivalent of a summer action movie. Lots of noise, lots of action, lots of sexy bodywork, but not all that sophisticated in terms of plot. For some, this could be enough to head over to the local art cinema for something German with English subtitles. But for us, the Corvette still represents great automotive fun, even with the big explosions and silly dialogue.
Naturally, the Corvette's special effects are directly related to what's under the hood. Even the base coupe and convertible come with a thumping 6.2-liter V8 good for 430 horsepower. From here you can move up to the Z06, which is the racetrack-oriented model that gains a 7.0-liter V8 cranking out 505 hp. Then there's the ZR1, which sees your Rambo and raises him by a Terminator, because it has a supercharged V8 that flexes its biceps to the tune of 638 hp.
The current-generation Corvette (it debuted in 2005) is getting a bit familiar, but Chevy has been doing its best to keep this sports car fresh. Last year it introduced the Grand Sport, which created an intermediate step between the base Corvette and the Z06. This time around, Chevy has come up with a new package to fill the gap between the Z06 and ZR1. Basically, selecting the Ultimate Performance package (commonly referred to as the Z07 package) for your Z06 gets you the ZR1's trick adaptive suspension and grippier Michelin tires. It's a move of which we wholly approve, since the result represents the Corvette at its best when it comes to handling, yet the package is also priced with some sense of affordability.
Unfortunately the Corvette's underlying weaknesses still remain, the most notable one being its ho-hum interior, which gets more disappointing the higher up the 'Vette food chain you go. And if you do indeed prefer your cars with more sophistication, this leaves the door open for other choices like the BMW M3, Nissan GT-R and the Porsche Boxster/Cayman and 911. On the cheaper end, Ford's 2011 Shelby GT500 is a very worthy competitor to a base Corvette. At the end of the day, though, America loves its summer action movies, and that puts the Corvette in a very good place indeed.

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options

The 2011 Chevrolet Corvette is available as a coupe with a removable roof panel, a fixed-roof coupe or a convertible. Trim levels include the base Corvette, Grand Sport (GS), Z06 and ZR1. The fixed-roof body style is exclusive to the Z06 and ZR1.
Standard on the base (1LT) coupe and convertible are 18-inch front cast-aluminum wheels and 19-inch rears, xenon headlamps, cruise control, keyless ignition/entry, full power accessories, OnStar, leather seating, a six-way power driver seat, a manual tilt steering wheel and dual-zone automatic climate control. The standard seven-speaker audio system includes a CD/MP3 player, satellite radio, steering-wheel-mounted controls and an auxiliary audio jack.
The 2LT Package adds Bluetooth and power, leather-upholstered sport seats with power-adjustable lumbar support and supportive side bolsters. The convertible gets a power-operated top with the 2LT package. More equipment can be found on the 3LT, including a head-up display, a power telescoping steering column with manual tilting, heated seats, driver memory settings and a Bose audio system. The top-level Corvette 4LT is similar to the 3LT but adds an exclusive two-tone leather interior (with leather covering the dash top, the console storage cover and the more thickly padded armrests).
The GS is available as a coupe or convertible with the same four equipment packages and then adds a sport-tuned suspension, vents in the front fenders, appearance stripes on the front fenders, wider front and rear fenders, a front splitter and rear wing, unique alloy wheels, upgraded brakes and tires, specific manual-transmission gear ratios and a specific rear axle ratio on automatic-equipped models.
The coupe-only Z06 largely mirrors the base and GS models in terms of feature availability, but gains a race-inspired 7.0-liter V8, the more muscular rear fenders and other bodywork, a lighter frame and body panels, a stiffer suspension, big brakes and special seats.
The top-of-the line ZR1 boasts a supercharged V8, even larger wheels (19-inch front, 20-inch rear), special tires, carbon-ceramic brakes, adaptive dampers and additional lightweight body panels that include a carbon-fiber roof panel and a carbon-fiber hood with a clear polycarbonate window that reveals the engine's intercooler.
New this year is the Ultimate Performance package for the Z06 that adds the ZR1's adaptive dampers, carbon-ceramic brakes, wheels and tires. Further ZR1 imitation comes from the Z06's Carbon Fiber package, which adds most of the ZR1's lightweight panels.
Major stand-alone options include (depending on the model) a navigation system, transparent roof panel for the coupe, two-tone interior, six-disc CD changer (not available with navigation), dual-mode exhaust system and different wheels. For base and GS Corvettes, there is also an optional Magnetic Ride Control suspension that automatically adjusts the firmness of the damping according to the way the car is being driven.

Powertrains and Performance

Both the base and GS feature a 6.2-liter V8 that cranks out 430 hp and 424 pound-feet of torque. The optional dual-mode exhaust adds another 6 hp and 4 lb-ft. The Z06 boasts an exotic-class 505 hp and 470 lb-ft from its 7.0-liter V8, while the ZR1 has an otherworldly 638 hp and 604 lb-ft of torque pumping from its supercharged 6.2-liter V8. All 2011 Chevrolet Corvettes have a six-speed manual gearbox with launch control as standard, while a six-speed automatic with paddle shifters is a no-cost option for the base and GS models.
Regardless of which Corvette you choose, you'll get stunning performance. In our testing, a base coupe went from a standstill to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds. The Z06 will knock that down to 3.9 seconds. The ZR1 isn't much quicker to 60 mph with a run of 3.8 seconds due to traction limitations, but it's capable of a much quicker time in the quarter-mile.
EPA fuel economy estimates stand at a laudable 16 mpg city/26 mpg highway and 19 mpg combined for a manual-transmission Corvette. Opting for the automatic drops these numbers by 1 mpg. The Z06 checks in at 15/24/18 mpg, and the ZR1 garners a still-respectable 14/20/16 rating.

Safety

Antilock disc brakes and side airbags are standard. Side curtain airbags are not available.
The Corvette's special "Active Handling" stability control system has been tuned to engage in a soft, noninvasive way that doesn't panic you. The Corvette's stability control also includes a Competition mode that gives the expert driver more leeway for aggressive dynamics while still maintaining an effective safety net. The ZR1 gets the even more sophisticated Performance Traction Management system.

Interior Design and Special Features

The Corvette's interior is certainly functional, and Chevrolet has been offering upgraded interior appointments for a few years now, yet the overall interior quality still leaves something to be desired. Step out of a BMW M3 or a Nissan GT-R and into a 'Vette and you'll likely find the Chevy's trim pieces, controls and steering wheel to be disappointing.
The front seats are comfortable but we still find them flimsy, while the bolsters prove far from supportive during fast driving. While the affordable price of a base Corvette seems to excuse such things, the Z06 and ZR1 play in a more demanding market. On the bright side, the Vette's large gauges and remarkable cargo capacity (22 cubic feet in coupes and 11 cubes in the convertible) make it a sports car that's easy to live with on a day-to-day basis.

Driving Impressions

No question here: The 2011 Chevrolet Corvette can bring the heat. The base car is extremely fast: the Z06, terrifyingly so. As for the ZR1, any car whose speed at the end of the quarter-mile approaches 130 mph is just in a different league -- the ballyhooed Nissan GT-R trails the ZR1 by a full 10 mph here. Top to bottom, the Corvette stable has enough broad-shouldered eight-cylinder force to satisfy even the most depraved speed fiend. Nor does this hamper drivability, as all Corvette models are pretty easy and comfortable to drive around town.
Compared to a car like the M3, the Corvette's steering can indeed seem a bit deficient in terms of communication. Thanks to their upgraded suspensions and tires, though, the ZR1 and Z06 (with the Ultimate Performance package) are noticeably better in this regard. The Vette's brakes are strong and fade-free, especially the available carbon-ceramic binders, and grip from the enormous tires is, well, enormous. However, the Chevy Corvette still feels less nimble than it should when driven on tight, curvy roads.

The 2011 Corvette is a 2-door, 2-passenger sports car, or convertible sports car, available in 21 trims, ranging from the Coupe 1LT to the ZR1 3ZR.

Upon introduction, the Coupe 1LT is equipped with a standard 6.2-liter, V8, 430-horsepower engine that achieves 16-mpg in the city and 26-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional. The ZR1 3ZR is equipped with a standard 6.2-liter, V8, 638-horsepower, supercharged engine that achieves 14-mpg in the city and 20-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard.

General Motors has released prices for the 2012 Chevrolet Corvette--and the cost is going up.
According to information given to dealers, the sticker price for base cars is going up by between $480 and $1,150, depending on the model.
There is one exception--the sticker price of the top-of-the-line ZR1 is decreasing by $75, to $112,500, including the $975 shipping charge.
Prices for equipment groups and options are also increasing. The 2LT group regular and Grand Sport coupes will go from $1,195 in 2011 to $2,095 for the 2012 model.
Likewise, the 3LT package will go from $4,205 to $5,995, and the 4LT package will jump from $7,705 to $9,495.
The regular and Grand Sport convertibles are the only models to see a decrease in equipment pricing, but just in the 2LT package, going from $3,190 to $2,095.
Interested in the Centennial Special Edition? That will set you back an additional $4,950, but it can be had on any Corvette model. The package includes black metallic paint with black wheels, red trim and Louis Chevrolet.

2010 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport

The best sports cars are wickedly fast, have razor-sharp handling and pretty much guarantee you’ll be smiling after every drive. Yet when it comes to resale value, many of these dream machines can turn into a money-losing nightmare due to huge depreciation.

However, some sports cars manage to buck the trend and hold onto their value year after year. Cars like the  Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport and Porsche 911 carrera have built enormous fan bases after many decades of production. Others, like theJaguar XK and Audi S5, woo buyers by managing to balance driving thrills with elegant exteriors and a modicum of practicality.

Of course, there are also sports cars that are simply the hottest must-have machines of the moment. The Tesla Nissan GT-R manages to defy physics with its incredible grip on the road. And the electric-powered
Roadster allows its lucky owner all the pleasures of driving a nimble sports car in one guilt-free, zero-emissions package.
Going into the 2010 model year, the Corvette lineup is growing to four models with the revival of the Grand Sport nameplate that slots in between the base and Z06 models. This is the third iteration of the Grand Sport, the first being a run of just five race-ready cars built by original Vette chief engineer Zora Arkus Duntov. The second batch was a run of 1,000 cars built in 1996 to close out the C4 generation. This time around, the Grand Sport is a regular production model and General Motors promises to make as many examples as customers demand.

The first customer bound production examples should be arriving at dealers this week, and the Corvette crew invited Autoblog out to the Milford Proving Ground for a tasting session. Thankfully, when Corvettes and Milford mix, that usually means a visit to the Milford Road Course (MRC), better known as the "Lutz 'Ring." MRC was completed five years ago at the south end of the company's proving grounds and as you might imagine, it's a suitably wonderful place to evaluate Corvettes. We spent the better part of an hour thrashing the Grand Sport around the MRC and came away impressed with this middle child. Read all about it after the jump.
Two seconds—that’s the most important figure to know when you’re considering the credentials of the new, 2010 Corvette Grand Sport. Those two ticks represent how much quicker the latest track-fortified Vette is around the hairy 2.9-mile road course at GM’s Milford proving grounds than was last year’s model with the Z51 handling package. That’s a huge gain, one that bites off more than half the Z06’s time advantage over the base Vette, and should convince skeptics that this is more than just a scheme to charge an additional four grand for the Corvette’s latest track pack.
More of a Good Thing
Replacing the previous (and highly recommended) Z51 package—it added larger wheels and tires, a stiffer suspension, bigger brakes, and shorter gearing to the base Corvette coupe or convertible—the Grand Sport shares a name with limited-edition models from 1963 and 1996 but is a new model line and not a low-volume special. In fact, Chevy is predicting that nearly 50 percent of Corvette sales going forward will be Grand Sports, citing claims that its customers were clamoring for more Z06-ness but without that 505-hp beast’s coupe-only and manual-transmission-only limitations. That’s why, as with the Z51 package, the Grand Sport, which starts at $55,720, or $5840 more than a base Corvette, is offered as a convertible or targa-topped coupe and with a manual or automatic. An available Heritage package brings the iconic Grand Sport front-fender hashes as well as two-tone seats.
As for the mechanicals, the Grand Sport keeps the base car’s 430-hp LS3 V-8 (436 hp with the optional exhaust) and steel frame but gets lots of Z06 bits, including its much larger tires (275/35-18s in front and 325/30-19s in back), wider track, cross-drilled brake rotors (14.0-inch fronts and 13.4-inch rears), and visual add-ons (front air inlet, bulging fenders, and rear brake-cooling ducts) that go more than skin deep, as they reduce aerodynamic lift by half. And although drag is increased, there’s no penalty to fuel economy, which remains an impressive 16 city/26 highway mpg for the coupe, 15/25 for the convertible. The only thing the Corvette really needs now is a remedy for its cheap-looking interior plastics; the available beyond-fake-carbon-fiber-wannabe surround for the center stack is particularly egregious. The cabin needs a breakthrough on par with the ones seen in the second-gen Cadillac CTS or the 2010 Buick LaCrosse.

Ready for Launch

The best Grand Sport value is the manual-transmission coupe, which gets a differential cooler and the dry-sump oiling system that’s shared with the Z06 and ZR1 and nearly doubles capacity, to 10.5 quarts. An additional benefit is that the dual oil pump and longer crankshaft used in conjunction with the dry-sump setup mean that those particular LS3 engines are hand-built alongside the LS7 and LS9 from the Z06 and ZR1.
Another welcome addition on all 2010 manual-transmission Vettes (including Z06s and ZR1s) is launch control. Simply put the car into “competition mode” by clicking the stability/traction-control button twice, and it’s armed. Push in the clutch and mat the throttle, and the revs rise to roughly 4500 rpm—the precise engine speed depends on the ambient temperature, among other things. Dump the clutch and the system ascertains the available grip by the viciousness of the initial wheelspin and then precisely modulates the torque sent to the wheels by adjusting the fuel and spark delivery 100 times per second while keeping the throttle wide open. Although the excess wheelspin used to calibrate the launch means the system’s times aren’t quite as good as those possible by the best drivers, it’s within 0.1 or so second and is extremely consistent.

The Right Balance

Weight is up about 40 pounds to just over 3300, roughly 100 more pounds than the Z06, and straight-line performance isn’t predicted to improve over the Z51’s 4.0-second 0-to-60-mph time, but we plan on a skidpad figure of at least 1.00 g when we get our hands on a Grand Sport for instrumented testing. Unfortunately, the lack of lateral support from the same flimsy seats that we’ve long complained about is still a big issue. The shift effort in manual cars still tends toward manly, but the broad torque is addicting, as is the roar that turns into a ripping snarl when the flaps open on the optional exhaust. This is truly a car that can easily withstand serious track time as is, which is impressive considering that the base Corvette’s forgiving ride isn’t sacrificed. Whereas pushing a Z06 always seems dangerous, the Grand Sport feels far less suicidal; the burlier Vette’s larger tires and instantly responding, slop-free brakes seem to suit this new model perfectly. But don’t think we’ve gone soft; there’s still plenty of power to break the rear tires loose and ruin your day. Aside from the $109,130 ZR1, this is our new favorite Corvette on the track.

2011 Chevrolet Traverse

The 2011 Chevrolet Traverse offers heated cloth seats for the LT trim level, the USB port is moved to the upper instrument panel storage bin and two new exterior colors are added: White Diamond Tri-Coat and Steel Green Metallic.
It isn't wrong to consider the Chevrolet Traverse a masterpiece. Its sleek exterior serves as a testament to the engineers who crafted our crossover into sheer beauty. Details like angular taillamps and the dual-port grill give Traverse a distinctive look, while a number of features help you out on the road.

Aside from the audio system's relocated USB input and the addition of heated cloth seats to the options list for LT models, the 2011 Chevrolet Traverse remains largely unchanged.

Introduction

Over the past couple of years, a lot of people have come to the realization that even though they like the practicality that a traditional SUV provides, they're not particularly fond of how unwieldy these lumbering, truck-based behemoths can be. If you're one of these people, we'd encourage you to check out the 2011 Chevrolet Traverse.
As a large crossover, the Traverse combines the people- and cargo-schlepping strengths of an SUV with the carlike ride and handling of a minivan. Granted, by choosing a crossover, you'll be giving up the heavy-duty towing capacity of those old-school sport-utes and the ultimate practicality of a minivan. Still, at the end of the day, the benefits offered by crossovers like the Traverse make them smart choices for many drivers.
While the Traverse is the least expensive of GM's three large crossovers built on the same underpinnings (the other two are the Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia), it's appealing in ways that go beyond the bottom line. Families will appreciate the roomy interior that offers comfortable seating for up to eight passengers; they'll also likely warm to the surprising number of upscale features found on the upper trim levels. Relatively decent fuel economy and high marks in government and insurance industry crash tests are also part of the deal.
The Traverse does have its faults, including less-than-optimal visibility and a third-row seat that's not quite as comfortable as the one in the Ford Flex. It's also no match for the Mazda CX-9 crossover in the handling department, nor does it offer as many advanced electronics as the new Ford Explorer. Just the same, folks in the market for a vehicle that offers the everyday usefulness of a traditional SUV or minivan without the associated downsides would do well to put the Traverse on their test-drive lists.

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options

The 2011 Chevrolet Traverse is a large crossover SUV available in LS, LT and LTZ trim levels. Standard equipment on the LS includes 17-inch steel wheels, eight-passenger seating, split-folding second- and third-row bench seats, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, air-conditioning, full power accessories, OnStar and a six-speaker CD/MP3 player with an auxiliary audio jack and satellite radio.
The midrange LT trim level is actually comprised of a choice of two sub-trims: the well-equipped 1LT and the more upscale 2LT. The 1LT package offers 18-inch alloy wheels, heated sideview mirrors, an eight-way power driver seat, a trip computer, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and rear parking sensors. Select the 2LT package and you'll get all that plus tri-zone automatic climate control, a 10-speaker Bose system (with USB port), rear audio system controls, seven-passenger seating (featuring second-row captain's chairs), a power liftgate and a rearview camera integrated into the rearview mirror.
The Traverse LTZ ups the luxury ante with 20-inch wheels, leather upholstery, heated and ventilated power front seats (with driver memory settings), Bluetooth connectivity and remote ignition. Many of the standard features on upper trim levels can be added to the lower ones via option packages. Other highlights from the add-ons list include a trailer-towing package, a navigation system (with real-time traffic, a rearview camera and a USB port), dual sunroofs and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system (with USB port).

Powertrains and Performance

There is only one engine/transmission combination available for the Chevrolet Traverse -- a 3.6-liter V6 mated to a six-speed automatic with manual shift control.
In the LS and LT trims, the V6 produces 281 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. In the more upmarket LTZ, output jumps to 288 hp and 270 lb-ft thanks to a dual-outlet exhaust. In our performance testing, a Traverse LT2 posted a sufficiently quick 0-60-mph time of 8.6 seconds.
EPA fuel economy estimates for the front-wheel-drive Traverse are 17 mpg city/24 mpg highway and 19 mpg combined. All-wheel-drive Traverse models are very close at 16/23/19 mpg. Properly equipped, the Traverse can tow up to 5,200 pounds.

Safety

Antilock disc brakes, traction and stability control, front seat side-impact airbags and side curtain airbags for all three rows are all standard on the 2011 Chevrolet Traverse, as is one year of GM's OnStar service, including turn-by-turn navigation and hands-free phone connectivity. In Edmunds brake testing, its Acadia twin came to a stop in 135 feet -- the Flex and CX-9 perform better.
In the government's new, more strenuous crash testing for 2011, the Traverse earned a top five-star rating for overall performance, with four out of five stars being given for front-impact protection and five stars for side-impact protection. The Traverse also aced the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety crash tests, where it got the highest rating of "Good" in both the frontal-offset and side-impact tests.

Interior Design and Special Features

While the 2011 Chevrolet Traverse has a number of good qualities, its interior is the real selling point. The design is attractive, with an eye-catching two-tone color scheme, brushed aluminum and chrome trim and simple, easy-to-read gauges. There are a few low-quality plastics used in spots, and the audio and climate controls use too many small and similar-looking buttons, but overall, the Traverse's passenger cabin gets good marks for both style and function.
Depending on which trim level you choose, the interior offers seating for either seven passengers with the second-row captain's chairs or eight with the 60/40-split-folding second-row bench seat. Either way, first- and second-row passengers enjoy comfortable accommodations. The third row is much more adult-friendly than the ones you'll find in most traditional SUVs, though the Ford Flex still bests the Chevy in this regard.
There's also plenty of room for stuff, including 24.4 cubic feet of cargo room behind the third-row seat. Fold both the second and third rows down and you get a nice flat load floor with room for 116.4 cubic feet of cargo.

Driving Impressions

While the 2011 Chevrolet Traverse rides more smoothly and handles better than most traditional SUVs, it won't exactly make you forget you're driving a plus-size vehicle.
Buyers looking at the top-of-the-line LTZ version should also bear in mind that its larger 20-inch wheels have a somewhat adverse effect on ride quality. The 3.6-liter V6 under the hood delivers wiling performance in a wide range of driving situations.

2013 Chevrolet Corvette C7

The 2013 Corvette is a 2-door, 2-passenger sports car, or convertible sports car, available in 21 trims, ranging from the Coupe 1LT to the ZR1 3ZR.

The 2011 Corvette is a carryover from 2010.

Given the concept’s massive wheels, exaggerated exterior, and extremely low roofline, there’s almost no way the production C7 Corvette will look exactly like it. However, we don’t think GM has created this concept for no reason at all.
With that in mind, we’ve created a speculative illustration of the production C7 based on the concept. It has small LED headlights that create a similar effect to the hideaway lamps of yore, and the overall styling is a fusion of new and old design cues.
Although details surrounding the C7 project remain scarce, General Motors has confirmed that the C7 Corvette will begin production in April 2012 as a 2013 model. The C7 Corvette will retain its front-engine layout, forgoing a more costly – and complex – mid-engine setup.
One speculated engine option would be a twin-turbo 3.6-liter DOHC V6 capable of 400 horsepower. If the V6 engine does make it into the production C7, you can count on a premium V8 to be available as well for those who like the classic V8 rumble Corvette’s are known for.
This is an awesome car, I think it would be a proud iteration of the Corvette. This is being quite optimistic that GM survives though…
LLL#3 – No. GM is Corvette and Vice-versa. It’s the same as saying, “I hope Mustang spins off of Ford” That’s their iconic product and I think it should live and die-if that is to be- with GM. Maybe someone buys the Corvette production line, but by no means should they ever use the name that GM made and perfected.

2011 Chevrolet Camaro Super

After seven years off the market, the Chevrolet Camaro took advantage of pent-up demand to become the bestseller in its exclusive segment, outselling the Ford Mustang, Dodge Challenger and Hyundai Genesis coupe. Much of Camaro's popularity has to do with its styling, which is a modern interpretation of the first-generation, 1969 model. Based on General Motors' Zeta rear-wheel-drive platform, the Camaro feels not so much like that late-‘60s "pony car" as a big musclecar. While the 2011 Camaro is about the same length as a '69, it's on a long, 112.3-inch wheelbase and weighs a hefty 3700 to 3900 pounds, depending on equipment. The enthusiast version is the 426-horsepower small block-powered SS (400 horsepower with the automatic transmission). Camaro has shaken up the segment, though, with its base model's 3.6-liter V-6, a powerful and fuel-efficient engine that pushed Ford into upgrading its Mustang powerplant lineup. Chevy will add a Camaro convertible early in '11 and a lightweight Z/28 high-performance model later in the year. The musclecar wars have just begun
Camaro was developed to be 21st century on every level - from its awe-inspiring design to its outstanding performance to its impressive efficiency. For 2011, the sophistication of the sports car continues, with more features and increased V6 horsepower. One thing that didn't change is the jaw-dropping design.
The $105,000 Jaguar XJL Supercharged was featured in last year’s Neiman Marcus holiday catalog. The 2009 book showcased a limited-edition $160,000 BMW 7 Series.
The Dallas-based luxury retailer is publishing its 84th holiday catalog this year.
The Neiman Marcus Edition Camaro Convertible is painted Deep Bordeaux metallic with “ghosted” rally stripes and a color-matched fabric top.
The cockpit has amber-colored leather seating, black leather side panels with red stitching and red accents on the steering wheel, shift knob and center console.
The Neiman Marcus edition is based on the Camaro SS, with a 6.2-liter V8, choice of six-speed manual or automatic transmission, 21-inch polished aluminum wheels, Pirelli P Zero performance tires, Brembo disc brakes, LED halo-ring headlamps, Bluetooth connectivity, rear parking assist and a 245-watt Boston Acoustics audio system.
Supercharged HPE600 by Hennessey package contains debugging Cevy Camaro with Compressor 6.2 liter V8 engine (LS3 or L99), which is 602 hp at 6300 rpm and 595 lb-ft of torque at 4400 rpm. Min. The sprint from 0 to 60 mph in the middle 3 seconds. The speed of 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Supercharged HPE600 by Hennessey is illustrated by a stainless steel cat-back exhaust, exterior stripes, alloy wheels, full suspension coli than Hennessy carbon aero body kit and custom leather interior.
Well, 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Supercharged HPE600 by Hennessey is not the best package that Hennessey, but it still beats many other packages, check out the video and enjoy the sound of a V8 like spins his way through the back half of Lonestar Motorsports Park.

2012 Chevrolet Malibu

Chevy’s aging Malibu has finally been updated and comes packing a list of competitive features, among them an all-new engine and a six-speed automatic transmission to make the Malibu a strong offering in its increasingly competitive segment.

In terms of styling, a sore spot for the outgoing Malibu, the 2013 model year car looks to improve the cosmetics while still retaining a variation of Chevrolet’s cross-bar grille, and adds a new bumper and a hood that is more sculpted. The higher-mounted Chevrolet grille leaves more lower bumper space for details like fog lamps surrounded by thin chrome, while hunched rear quarters have a distinctly European flair that includes uniquely squared off taillamps and a trunk lid that doesn’t seem far off from that trunklid found on the latest 6-Series Coupe.
A noteworthy change comes from Chevrolet now that we have confirmed the Bow Tie brand will drop the low-volume V6 currently offered in the Malibu in favor of a Sonata-inspired four-cylinder-only lineup. The new 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine comes sporting a dual overhead cam setup with direct injection, good for estimated horsepower over 190 and torque in the 180 lb ballpark (SAE-certification pending).
The EPA has yet to test this new four-pot, which will come mated to a Hydra-Matic 6T40 six-speed automatic transmission, and Chevy is remaining mum and not even offering estimated fuel economy at this time. Despite the obvious moves towards efficiency, Chevy promises that the all-new Malibu will deliver “precise ride and handling,” which it says has been engineered to be best-in-class – even going as far as to suggest that it will match more expensive sports sedans.
What’s inside?
One of the strong points of GM’s newest sedan is a compelling interior, complete with a blend of metallic, chrome and wood surfaces throughout the cabin. The stylization accents range from bits on the shifter, center stack, instrument cluster, steering wheel and the doors. The car’s party piece arrives in the form of a trick fold-out screen, a first of this type in a GM product, and first in any U.S. midsize car.
That same folding seven-inch screen will come with Chevy’s new infotainment system, MyLink, which allows for Pandora streaming radio and Stitcher SmartRadio, as well as Bluetooth and other technologies.
Interior lighting is anything but scarce, and Ice Blue is the order of the day – ranging from gauge cluster displays to accent lighting that stretches throughout and across the cabin.
Safety counts in family sedans
GM knows that safety is paramount in any vehicle, particularly one that will likely be used to haul families around town and across country, and as such, the Malibu comes packed with an array of technology aimed at keeping its occupants safe. Both the driver and front passenger, in the event of an accident, will find themselves cocooned in dual-stage air bags, pelvic/thorax side-impact airbags and even knee airbags.
There are also roof air bags that offer rollover protection, and Chevy will offer available second-row pelvic/thorax side-impact airbags, a lane departure warning system with forward collision alert and an available rearview camera system. Of course, OnStar with Automatic Crash Response is also included, and now boasts improved voice recognition technology, as well as a myriad of improvements aimed at ease of use rather than safety concerns.
Size matters
Among the extensive list of changes is a 4.5-inch shorter wheelbase, as well as a 62-inch track width that is just over 2 inches wider than the outgoing model. The end result is a more sporting platform that aims to deliver on Chevy’s promise for a sporty driving dynamic.

2012 Chevrolet

2012 Chevrolet

The old saying "the rich get richer" can be changed to "the fast get faster" when talking about the 2012 Corvette.
Chevrolet is letting it be known that they are going to "elevate" the performance of 2012 Corvette with performance and interior upgrades to the Z06 and ZR1 models. This "elevation" will be debuted at a special event at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Ky. with production beginning in July.
“We constantly strive to make the Corvette a better car on the road and the track,” says Tadge Juechter, Corvette vehicle line director and chief engineer. “For 2012, the Corvette lineup achieves its highest performance level ever, while at the same time being easier to drive and enjoy thanks to several changes and new features inside the car.”
One of the ways the new Corvette is going to achieve higher performance levels can be found in the wheel wells. The Z06 and ZR1 will be available with optional Michelin® Pilot® Sport Cup Zero Pressure tires which are advertised to be “competition-oriented tires, optimized for warm, dry conditions to increase cornering and handling capability”.
Chevrolet is reporting that when combined with the Corvette’s exclusive Performance Traction Management technology which manages torque delivery,  the new tires are expected to achieve an estimate 8-percent gain in maximum lateral acceleration to more than 1.1g. Of course, the better grip supplied by the new tires will also improve braking distance and performance. According to tests done at Virginia International Raceway, the new tires improved lap times approximately three seconds per lap. The Performance Traction Management will be offered on the Z06 for the first time in 2012.
Developed by the same Michelin engineers who develop tires for Corvette Racing in the American Le Mans Series, the Cup ZP tires are essentially street-legal versions of a racing tire. They are included in the optional Z07 performance package on the Corvette Z06 and a new PDE performance package on the ZR1. The 285/30-19 (front) and 335/25-20 (rear) tires are matched with all-new aluminum Cup-style wheels in satin black or machined finishes. They are about five pounds lighter (2.2 kg) and stronger than the 20-spoke wheel offered in 2011.
Other performance upgrades include a full-width racing-style spoiler for improved aerodynamics which is included in both the Z07 and PDE packages. Also, the Z06 model will now offer Magnetic Selective Ride Control and Brembo carbon ceramic brakes will be  part of the Z07 chassis package (they are standard on ZR1).  A carbon fiber hood will be an available option on Z06 models, while the standard manual transmission for ZR1 will include taller gearing in fifth and sixth gears, for a 2-mpg improvement in highway fuel economy.
Inside, 2012 Corvette will have a new seat design and a new steering wheel. The seats feature larger bolsters on the seat back and cushion areas. Microfiber suede seat inserts are optional and improve tactile feel, as well as add additional support. There is also a revised steering wheel featuring model-specific badges, streamlined switch trim and wrapped spokes. Padded center console and armrests for all models are now included for 2012. An additional visual touch inside the car is contrasting color stitching which is available with the custom leather-wrapped interior.
For your ears there is a new Bose uplevel audio system, which includes nine speakers (compared to seven in 2011) for improved audio quality that is more precisely tuned to the cabin’s acoustics. New tweeters located in the instrument panel and improved Bose Nd next-generation bass performance is the main benefit that Corvette drivers will hear.
Last but not least, customers can now select brake caliper colors for more personalization of their Corvette. The calipers are offered in the red, yellow, silver or gray.
